Chapter Fifteen

Man, ever since I saw my baby Vanity tackle Tasha’s trifling ass, I can’t get enough of her. That girl showed me that night that she is all the woman I need. That night we got home from the club, I cleaned up her hand because her knuckles were bruised, probably from smashing on Tasha’s teeth. I hadn’t seen my girl kick ass like that since before I got locked up and to see her do it the way she did, no questions asked or nothing. She just came from nowhere and just started smashing a bitch’s face in.

When we got to the apartment she was still fired up.

“What did that bitch think I was gonna do? Just stand to the side and watch her put the moves on my man after you already told her to move around? Nah, fuck that!”

“Babe, calm down. Let that shit go a'ight. Ain’t nobody fixin’ to take me from you, just like no nigga is fixin’ to take you from me. We belong together and nothing can tear us apart.” I said pulling her in so I can hold her. My baby was riled up and I know the only thing that was gonna put that fire out is for us to do what we do best.

I scoop her up and she lets out a shriek. I carry her to the bedroom and gently put her down on the floor. She looks at me and starts unbuttoning my shirt. Once it falls to the floor, she lifts up my arms to remove my wife beater. I grab her close and plant my lips on hers. She wraps her arms around my neck and the kiss gets heated pretty quick, but I need to stop because I just wanna know something.

“Babe,” I begin.

“What baby?”

“How long did you work at the strip club?”

“Huh? Why you asking that? I ain’t working there now,” she said.

“I know but, I’m just curious. Didn’t Vega offer to help you? I told my lil cuz to take care of you while I was locked up. So if he ain’t do his job, I’ma have to talk to him about that shit yo. We family, so he should have taken care of you,” I said. When I got locked up that was one of the first things I asked Vega to do for me.

“No baby, don’t get mad at him. He offered to help me but I felt funny taking money from my sister’s man,” she said.

“So if he offered you money baby, you should have let him give it to you. I asked him to look out for you. Why wouldn’t you let him?” I ask and I’m a little upset because I don’t understand why she didn’t let Vega help her, instead of dropping it like it was hot in the strip club.

“I don’t know babe. I just felt some type of way about taking money from Cruz’s man. If the money had come from you, I would have accepted it.
